Camp Life

I love a good road trip but sometimes I can't go along for the fun. But that's ok because I got to spend the day at Camp Canine, a local home away from home for dogs big and small. As a camper, I receive a lot of care from the Camp Canine staff.

They take photos of the campers to share with the parents. I'm confident these photos eased my mommy's mind while she was away.

I wish my best friend Khloe was here. She'd love it as she's quite the social butterfly and smiles at nearly every dog she meets. I'll tell you more about Khloe in a separate post because she deserves it.

My new friend Bella reminds me of Khloe a bit. I enjoyed hanging out with her for the day.

Later that evening, mommy surprised me by showing up early to take me home. When she arrived, I was running around and playing with my new friends. I was supposed to spend the night but after mommy spent a full day in the sun, she was ready for some much needed rest, and so was I.

Time for some shut eye.

After a quick bite to eat, I was definitely ready for bed. Zzzzz....Zzzzz...Zzzzz.

One of my favorite things to do is go for car rides. It's not often I get to do this being a city dog. Luckily for me, my momma rents a car every once in awhile. I get to go for a ride when she returns it.

Ahhh...this is the life.

It took me a while to get comfortable. But once I did, I was so happy. I wish the car ride could have been longer. I'm looking forward to my next road trip.

Happy Birthday to Me!

I celebrated my 2nd birthday this past weekend and boy was it a good one. Lots of walks, cozy naps, delicious treats, and a few new chew sticks to keep me busy. Word got around it was my birthday and my friends and neighbors wished me the best. Thanks for making a little fella feel special.

One was Fun

Wow! Time sure does fly. It's hard to believe that one year ago I turned one! Last year, my momma spoiled me with a homemade chicken, rice and baby carrot dinner and a delicious peanut butter cupcake biscuit for dessert. I got lots of presents. I didn't know which one to open first! From yummy treats to new clothes and squeaky toys, my first birthday was great!

I wonder what this year will bring.

I Like to Lounge

Before the new sofa arrived, we didn't have anywhere to sit except on this tri-fold beach lounge chair. Wherever my mommy sits, I like to claim the space as my own as soon as it's empty for me to snuggle myself into. I quickly took ownership of this chair and basked in all my glory as the natural sunlight came through the window.

Last summer, mommy and friends headed to Montreal for the "Shorty 40", a 40th birthday weekend celebration for our good friend Dana a.k.a. Shorty. Since I wasn't able to join the trip, I was there in spirit as a cardboard cut-out.

As it turns out, Montreal is a dog-friendly city. I would like to return one day and explore the streets myself and sniff out the best places along the way. 

America's Next Top Dog

I can't believe it! My first magazine debut! I'm in the "Out and About" section (pg. 19) in The Pet Gazette. I wonder where this will take me next. Will I grace a magazine cover someday? Will I see myself on the big screen or walk the red carpet? One can only dream!!!  I'm just really excited and want to say thank you to my friends at The Pet Gazette for choosing my picture.

Summer's just around the corner and there's nothing more I love than exploring new places. Even though I'm just 6 lbs of awesomeness and don't take up much space, it can be challenging to find pet-friendly destinations that truly accommodate dogs of all sizes.

Thanks to our friends at Sunset, they've rounded up a list of the best dog-friendly trips in the West, from California to Washington. I hope to travel to all of these places someday, especially Carmel, CA, since that's one of my owner's favorite places to visit.
